Bucatini, also known as Perciatelli, originate from Naples. They have an elongated, round shape and are hollow in the centre. Traditionally served with tomato sauce, pork cheek, and a sprinkling of pecorino romano (sheep’s cheese), bucatini are also highly versatile. They pair beautifully with rich butter, meat, or fish sauces, and are equally delicious with vegetable-based sauces, such as tomato with peppers, aubergines, courgettes, olives, and capers.
